Trump Says Security Threats Reflect “Impact,” Vows Not to Be Deterred

U.S. President Donald Trump said Saturday that repeated security threats against him underscore what he described as his political significance, stressing that he will not allow such dangers to alter his actions or decisions.

Speaking after a shooting scare disrupted an event he was attending, Trump said he views the pattern of violence as linked to the influence he believes he has had. “I’ve studied assassinations,” he told reporters, adding that “the most impactful people” are often those who are targeted, according to The Washington Post.

The president framed the risks as part of the responsibilities of his position, describing it as an inherently dangerous role. “It’s a dangerous profession, but I don’t view it that way,” he said, emphasizing that his focus remains on carrying out his duties. He added that he is motivated by his commitment to the country and takes pride in his work.

Trump also indicated that he does not want the threat of violence to disrupt public life or influence his schedule. He said he had wanted the event to continue despite the incident and expressed a desire to reschedule it quickly after it was halted for security reasons.

“We don’t want these people to change the fabric of our life,” Trump said, referring to those behind such acts, as cited by The Washington Post.
