Sweden Lifts COVID-19 Measures

The coronavirus pandemic in the country has been completely brought under control and therefore all measures against COVID-19 have been lifted, said Sweden's Public Health Agency on Wednesday.

In a statement, the agency said the COVID-19 restrictions, which started to be relaxed as of June 1, have been ended today.

However, it added that in places, such as airports and planes, where international rules are implemented, the measures, such as wearing face mask and PCR testing, will continue.

Meanwhile, the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that travel bans to all countries will be lifted as of October 1.

In Sweden, which has a population of over 10 million, near 15.000 deaths and approximately 1.15 million cases have, so far, been reported due to COVID-19.
