Tamuda Bay Hosts 'Selectair' Conference to Enhance Morocco's Presence in the Belgian Tourism Market

The Moroccan National Tourist Office, in partnership with the Belgian travel agency network "Selectair", is hosting the network's annual conference in Tamuda Bay, from September 30 to October 4, 2026. This event will see the participation of representatives from about 90 agencies and their main partners, with the aim of promoting the marketing of Moroccan destinations and boosting sales in the Belgian market.

The Office explained in a statement that organizing this professional event in the north of the kingdom is part of a strategy to expand Morocco's presence among tourism distribution networks, and to introduce Belgian professionals to the diversity of the national offer, with greater attention to northern destinations and their inclusion in the programs marketed by travel agencies.

"Selectair", which the statement presents as one of the leading travel agency networks in Belgium, comprises 88 independent agencies and 320 collaborators, most of whom are based in the Flanders region. The network achieved a turnover of nearly 310 million euros in 2025, averaging approximately 3.5 million euros per agency.

The conference brings together travel agents and members of the network's board of directors, alongside its most prominent partners, including "TUI Belgium", "Amadeus", "MSC Cruises", "RIU Hotels", and Brussels Airport, as well as the participation of the Flemish Travel Agency Association, represented by its president.

The Office is betting on the presence of these professionals for several days to enhance their knowledge of Moroccan tourist products, from beach and cultural tourism to luxury and bespoke travel and discovery experiences, and to convert this knowledge into tangible business opportunities.

This initiative comes in the context of the growth of the Belgian market, as Morocco, according to the statement figures, received 1.2 million tourists from Belgium in 2025, an increase of 10 percent compared to 2024. By the end of July 2026, the number of arrivals from this market exceeded 834 thousand, an increase of 8 percent on an annual basis.

It is expected that "Selectair", after the conference, will launch a digital and press campaign dedicated to Morocco, including articles and content on social networks, newsletters, and digital ads. The professional platform "TravelMedia BeLux" will cover the event before, during, and after its occurrence.

Morocco aims to reach 1.4 million tourist arrivals from Belgium during 2026, and to reach two million arrivals by 2030, based on strengthening its relations with market professionals and developing sales and promotion channels.

The choice of Tamuda Bay, according to the office, provides an opportunity to expand the Belgian agencies' perception of the Moroccan destination, by combining professional meetings and experiencing the local tourist offer. This cooperation also aims to consolidate a long-term relationship with the "Selectair" network, supporting the presence of new regions in its offers and increasing the chances of attracting Belgian travelers.
