Morocco received more than 7.7 million tourists by the end of May 2026, marking a 7 percent increase compared to the same period in 2025, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, Social and Solidarity Economy.
In a statement, the ministry said Morocco’s tourism sector continues to post positive results, with the country welcoming 1.7 million visitors in May alone, representing a 13 percent rise compared to May 2025.
Tourism Minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor said the sector has maintained its positive momentum throughout 2026, highlighting the effectiveness of the government's tourism development strategy.
“The tourism sector continues to deliver strong performance in 2026,” Ammor said, adding that the latest figures confirm the success of a strategy focused simultaneously on expanding air connectivity, diversifying the tourism offering, and enhancing the visitor experience.
According to the minister, this approach is enabling Morocco to sustain steady growth while strengthening the Kingdom’s attractiveness among travelers from around the world.
The latest figures reinforce Morocco’s position as one of the leading tourism destinations in Africa and reflect continued efforts to boost the sector’s contribution to economic growth and job creation.
