A new direct air route linking Casablanca and Los Angeles was launched on Sunday, marking a significant expansion of air connectivity between Morocco and the U.S. West Coast, operated by Morocco's national carrier, Royal Air Maroc (RAM).
The inaugural flight departed from Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca at 4:00 a.m. local time and was scheduled to arrive in Los Angeles at 8:20 a.m. local time. The non-stop journey takes approximately 12 hours, providing one of the few direct links between Africa and California.
The service will operate three times a week, with departures from Casablanca on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Return flights from Los Angeles are scheduled to leave at 10:20 a.m. local time and arrive in Casablanca the following day at 5:25 a.m.
The route is operated using wide-body aircraft designed for long-haul travel, offering passengers onboard entertainment systems and enhanced comfort for transatlantic journeys.
The launch comes in response to growing demand for travel between Morocco and the western United States. The connection is expected to benefit members of the Moroccan diaspora, tourists and business travelers while improving access between Africa and one of North America's largest economic hubs.
The new route also coincides with preparations for major international football tournaments set to take place in the United States, providing supporters with a direct travel option between Morocco and the American West Coast.
