Morocco’s tourism sector has confirmed its strong growth trajectory in 2025, reaching 894,000 direct jobs, a figure that already exceeds the employment target set under the 2023–2026 national roadmap, the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy announced.
According to the latest data from the High Commission for Planning (HCP), the sector generated a total of 894,000 direct jobs in 2025, reflecting the creation of 92,000 new positions over the past three years. This performance surpasses the roadmap’s objective of creating 80,000 additional jobs by 2026.
The ministry noted in a press release that this achievement reflects a broader upward trend across key tourism indicators, signaling the effectiveness of the strategy implemented since 2023.
Tourist arrivals reached nearly 20 million visitors in 2025, exceeding the initial target of 17.5 million set for 2026. This surge highlights Morocco’s growing attractiveness as a global travel destination and its ability to recover and expand in a competitive international environment.
In parallel, tourism revenues recorded a significant increase, reaching 138 billion dirhams, which is 18 billion dirhams higher than the projections outlined in the national roadmap.
Commenting on these results, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy Fatim-Zahra Ammor emphasized that the government’s strategy is designed to deliver tangible benefits for citizens.
“The ultimate goal of all the actions undertaken within the framework of the 2023–2026 roadmap is to have a concrete impact on citizens,” Ammor said.
She added that the latest figures confirm both the relevance of the adopted strategy and the central role of tourism as a key driver of economic growth and job creation in Morocco.
The ministry considers these results as a strong indication that the sector is not only recovering but also outperforming expectations, positioning tourism as one of the main pillars of the national economy in the coming years.
