FC Barcelona has confirmed plans to play a pre-season friendly in the Moroccan city of Tangier on August 15, with the Spanish giants set to face a yet-to-be-announced Moroccan club as part of their preparations for the new season.
In a statement issued after a meeting of the club's executive committee on Wednesday, Barcelona said members reviewed the latest preparations for the match, noting that the final organizational details are currently being completed.
The fixture has now been officially included in the club's pre-season schedule, although Barcelona has not yet revealed the identity of its Moroccan opponent.
The Catalan club also discussed the possibility of arranging a friendly match for its women's team against Manchester City in England on the same day, as part of its broader pre-season planning.
Beyond sporting matters, Barcelona's executive committee considered holding a single General Assembly next September to approve the club's financial statements for the 2025-2026 season and its budget for the 2026-2027 campaign.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of renovation works at Spotify Camp Nou and examined the timetable for the remaining construction phases ahead of the start of the new season.
