UK Adopts e-Visa System for Moroccan Travelers Requiring Entry Visas

The United Kingdom has officially adopted a fully digital visa system for all visitors requiring prior entry clearance, including Moroccan applicants who need a visa to travel to the UK.

The British Embassy in Rabat announced on Wednesday that, under the new measure, eligible travelers will be issued electronic visas (e-Visas) only, replacing the traditional vignette stickers previously affixed inside passports.

Under the updated system, visa information will be linked electronically to travelers’ passport details, eliminating the need for any physical sticker. The move represents a complete digital transition in the UK’s visa issuance process.

British authorities said the reform forms part of a broader modernization of immigration and border control systems. The shift aligns with global digital trends aimed at improving administrative efficiency, speeding up processing times, and reducing risks associated with document fraud or loss.

The UK authorities also encouraged applicants seeking further information about how the e-Visa system operates and the procedures involved to consult the official UK government website through the designated online portal.
