Two Planes Carrying 320 Moroccans Residing in Ukraine Arrive in Casablanca

Two planes of Royal Air Maroc (RAM) carrying 320 Moroccan nationals established in Ukraine landed, Wednesday evening, at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca.

The first plane had taken off in the afternoon from the Polish capital Warsaw, while the second had flown directly from Bucharest airport, both bound for Casablanca.

The passengers were tested for Covid-19 at Mohammed V International Airport in accordance with the health protocol in force.

In statements to M24, MAP's 24-hour news channel, several students expressed their satisfaction and joy at being able to join their families, following the deterioration of the situation in Ukraine.

They praised the efforts made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad and the relevant authorities to ensure the safe return of Moroccans, ensuring that administrative procedures were smooth.

The majority of students, they said, opted for distance learning because of this situation.

Other passengers emphasized the "very good" conditions of the trip, thanking the authorities who continue to make every effort to ensure the return of Moroccans stranded in Ukraine.

A third flight was scheduled late Wednesday evening from Budapest.

RAM had announced, Wednesday, the strengthening of its offer to Moroccans living in Ukraine, with two new flights next Saturday from Kosice (Slovakia) and Warsaw to Casablanca.

These new flights will be carried out at the same fixed rate of 750 dirhams including tax, said RAM on its Twitter account.

These flights are in addition to three others announced Tuesday by the national carrier for March 3 and 4 from Bratislava, Bucharest and Budapest to Casablanca.
