Pedro Sanchez to visit Morocco in coming weeks, Spanish press say

The Spanish press said that Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez is preparing to visit the Kingdom of Morocco in the next few weeks, following the end of the diplomatic crisis between the two countries.

According to the Spanish press, this visit will officially turn the page on the crisis between Morocco and Spain, as he is expected to meet King Mohammed VI to enhance relations between the two countries.

The same sources also said that the high-level meeting between the governments of the two countries, which was supposed to be held at the beginning of this year, was postponed due to the crisis that erupted as a result of Spain's reception of ‘Polisario’ leader Brahim Ghali, it is also expected to take place soon between the two countries.

King Mohammed VI, in a speech commemorating the revolution of the king and the people that he presented a few weeks ago, announced the end of the crisis with Spain after secret negotiations between the two parties, to return relations to their previous normal.

Spain's decision to receive the leader of the ‘Polisario’ to receive treatment for being infected with the Coronavirus sparked great anger in Morocco, and prompted the Kingdom to cut diplomatic relations with Spain and stop its cooperation with it, considering that the Spanish step was a blow to the good-neighborly relations between the two countries.
