Coast guards of the Moroccan Royal Navy operating in the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean provided assistance, from February 5 to 8, to 256 would-be irregular immigrants, most of whom coming from sub-Saharan Africa.
The group of migrants includes 41 women and 5 children, who were in difficulty on board makeshift boats, according to a military source.
The migrants received first aid on board Royal Navy units before being brought to the nearest ports of the Kingdom and then handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for the usual administrative procedures, said the same source.
