Over 24.4 Mln People Receive First Vaccine Dose In Morocco

A total of 135 new COVID-19 cases and 144 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco over the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection said on Thursday.

In its daily bulletin on the epidemic situation, the Ministry noted that the number of people who have received the first vaccine dose reached 24,426,409, those who got two jabs amounted to 22,692,707, while 1,718,267 people had three doses.

The new reported cases bring to 950,223 the total number of infections since the first case was recorded in Morocco in March 2020, while recoveries rise to 932,565 (a recovery rate of 98.1%).

The total number of deaths rose to 14,782 (case-fatality 1.6%) with 3 new confirmed deaths in the region of Casablanca-Settat, Marrakech-Safi et Fez-Meknes.

The number of active cases stands at 2,876, including 106 people in a critical or severe condition.
