Morocco's trade deficit stood at 136.54 billion dirhams at the end of August 2021, up by 22.3% compared to the same period in 2020, according to the Exchange Control Office.
During the first eight months of this year, exports have reached 201.15 billion dirhams, up 23.8% compared to the end of August 2020, said the Office in its monthly foreign trade data in August.
Similarly, imports have increased by 23.2% (337.69 Bln dirhams), it noted, adding that the coverage rate of imports by exports has remained stable (59.6% end-August 2021 compared to 59.3% end-August 2020).
