Morocco's Minister of Equipment, WB Official Discuss Youth Employment

The role of major public utility projects in creating employment opportunities, particularly for young people in Morocco, was the focus of a meeting on Friday, between the Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, and the Vice President of the World Bank (WB) for the region of North Africa and the Middle East, Ferid Belhaj.

Baraka recalled the impact of the global health crisis on several sectors, stating that a deep revival is necessary to overcome the consequences of this challenging situation, based on the roadmap set by the new development model.

He highlighted the government's program, whose key objectives are: the reinforcement of the economic recovery and the alleviation of social and regional disparities.

Belhaj, accompanied by a delegation of the international institution, stressed that Morocco is a model of development in the MENA region, welcoming the progress made and the strategies deployed to ensure economic growth and sustainable development in the Kingdom's regions.
