The Moroccan Ministry of Health and Social Protection on Tuesday called on citizens to ensure compliance with Covid-19 preventive measures and complete vaccination to avoid any deterioration of the epidemiological situation.
This call comes in reaction "to the abandonment, by a large number of citizens, of the main preventive measures as well as following the upward trend of the epidemiological curve in the past two weeks,” the ministry points out in a press release.
This development, the department says, "shows that the virus is still among us in connection with the global epidemic situation, especially after the appearance and spread of the Omicron variant in several countries".
The ministry warns against the risk of slackening in compliance with barrier gestures, while underlining the need to stay vigilant to prevent any epidemiological deterioration.
In order to preserve the current achievements in terms of controlling the epidemic situation, the ministry calls on citizens to comply with preventive measures, which have proven their effectiveness, including the correct wearing of protective masks, frequent hand washing, avoiding non-essential gatherings and respecting social distancing.
In addition, the ministry urges citizens to quickly go to vaccination centers to get vaccinated, noting that vaccination remains at the forefront of the recommendations of the WHO and the National Scientific Committee, in order to curb the spread of the Omicron variant.
