Morocco’s FM Nasser Bourita to visit Tel Aviv soon, Israeli FM says

Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid said Wednesday that his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita, is expected to visit Tel Aviv soon in order to supervise the opening of Morocco’s embassy in Israel.

Lapid told reporters that he expects the arrival of Nasser Bourita, and Emirati Foreign Minister, Abdullah bin Zayed, adding that the visit of the two Arab officials could be within the next two months.

The Israeli official said that the Moroccan Foreign Minister will present for the occasion of the opening of Morocco’s embassy in Tel Aviv, without any further details.

Morocco and the UAE have not issued yet any official statement about the visits to Israel.

Morocco was the third Arab nation to resume full diplomatic ties with Tel Aviv in 2020 after UAE and Bahrain. And since then, Rabat and Tel Aviv decided to reopen the liaison offices to resume diplomatic ties while waiting for the opening of the embassies for the first time between them.
