The means to strengthen trade relations between Morocco and the United States were at the center of a roundtable discussion held on Wednesday in Marrakech on the sidelines of the Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Initiated for the benefit of Moroccan companies by the U.S. Embassy in Morocco, this closed-door meeting was graced by the presence of the Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, among others.
This roundtable also provided the opportunity to explore the various possibilities offered by the American Development Finance Corporation (DFC) in terms of the development and enhancement of commercial relations between Morocco and the United States, with a focus on the means to be implemented to promote shared prosperity.
In a statement to the press at the end of this working meeting, the minister stated that the objective was to review major projects that align with the Royal High Directives and the government program in various areas, with the aim of contributing to their financing.
He also added that these projects encompass areas such as desalination of water, interconnection of water basins, wastewater treatment, groundwater management, and supplying rural areas with this vital resource.
The meeting, he noted, also discussed major projects related to highways and ring roads, as well as various projects in line with the prospective vision of King Mohammed VI.
