Morocco's Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity announced on Tuesday that the 2026 edition of Operation Marhaba will be launched on Wednesday, June 10, to facilitate the return of Moroccans living abroad during the summer season, under the High Instructions of King Mohammed VI.
The Foundation, which coordinates the operation alongside various national stakeholders, said the reception program will begin simultaneously at midnight in Morocco, France, Spain, and Italy, marking the start of one of the Kingdom's largest annual initiatives dedicated to the Moroccan diaspora.
Held under the effective presidency of King Mohammed VI, this year's edition features an expanded support network built around 26 reception centers located across Morocco and Europe. The system is designed to provide assistance and guidance to Moroccans residing abroad as they travel through the main transit points connecting Europe and Morocco.
In Morocco, 20 reception sites have been mobilized, including facilities at the ports of Tanger Med, Tangier City, Al Hoceima, and Nador Bni Nsar. Assistance services will also be available at the airports of Casablanca Mohammed V, Rabat-Salé, Oujda Angad, Nador, Agadir Al Massira, Fès Saïss, Marrakech Menara, Tangier Ibn Battouta, Laayoune Hassan I, and Dakhla.
Additional support centers have been established at the Mediterranean, Jebha, Tazaghine, and Smir M'Diq rest areas, as well as at the Bab Sebta and Melilla border crossings.
Outside Morocco, six Marhaba reception centers will operate at the European ports of Genoa in Italy, Sète and Marseille in France, and Motril, Almería, and Algeciras in Spain.
The operation will run from June 10 until September 15, providing social assistance and medical services to members of the Moroccan community abroad during both their arrival in Morocco and their return journeys to Europe.
According to the Foundation, nearly 1,400 personnel have been mobilized for the operation, including Foundation staff, social workers, doctors, paramedical teams, and volunteers tasked with assisting and supporting travelers throughout the summer period.
The assistance program is coordinated through the Central Coordination Office in Rabat, which oversees field operations, ensures coordination among the various stakeholders involved, and manages the Marhaba assistance hotline.
The Foundation noted that the hotline will remain available around the clock throughout the duration of the operation to respond to inquiries and provide assistance to Moroccans living abroad.
