Morocco to Initiate New Turn Towards Achievement of 'Vaccine and Health Sovereignty', Minister Says

Morocco will start a new turn towards the achievement of "vaccine and health sovereignty" after the launch, on Thursday in Benslimane, of the construction works of a manufacturing plant for Covid-19 and other vaccines, said Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khalid Aït Taleb.

In a statement to the press at the launching ceremony of the works, chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Minister of Health stressed that the launch of this royal large-scale project will allow the Kingdom to manufacture large quantities of vaccine to strengthen the self-sufficiency of this substance and export it to African countries.

Morocco has learned the lessons of the health crisis it has gone through and the rest of the world, he stressed, adding that the Kingdom is committed to this step in order to address the shortage of vaccines and their unfair distribution, in accordance with the High Royal Directions.
