Morocco will hold elections for the House of Representatives on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, government spokesperson Mustapha Baitas announced on Thursday.
Speaking after the weekly government council meeting, Baitas, who also serves as Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, said the cabinet approved a decree presented by the Minister of the Interior setting the date for the legislative vote.
The decree also establishes the timetable for submitting candidacy declarations through the official electronic platform, as well as the official campaign period, in accordance with Organic Law No. 27.11 governing the House of Representatives.
According to the approved schedule, the electoral campaign will begin at 00:00 on Thursday, September 10, 2026, and will run until midnight on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
The move comes as Moroccan authorities begin preparations for the next legislative elections, with officials saying the timeline is intended to ensure the organization of a transparent and orderly electoral process.
