Morocco has strengthened the level of alertness to confront the worrisome mutations that have not yet spread in Morocco, according to the National Vigilance and Response Plan for Coronavirus.
For this purpose, the Ministry of Health has established a special procedure "to investigate a population associated with a new mutated SARS-Cove-2" that has not yet spread in Morocco.
According to the Ministry of health, this procedure, which was developed in order to frame the research on possible cases of the disease resulting from a mutant that has not yet been detected in Morocco, aims to identify all contacts as soon as possible and to ensure adequate care for cases and contacts.
The procedure determines, the source adds, three levels for cases of infection with a new mutant, including suspected, probable and confirmed cases, as the third case concerns everyone who has been confirmed to have been exposed to SARS-Cove-2 infection through a molecular test and whose serial detection showed the presence of infection with the new mutant.
These efforts by Moroccan health authorities aim at controlling any possibilities of emerging new cases of Coronavirus variants and keep the Moroccan goal of vaccinating 80 percent of its citizens away from any threats.
Morocco has vaccinated more than 7 million people so far and seeks to vaccinate 30 million in the coming few months.
