Morocco has signed an agreement to participate in the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza, marking a new step in the Kingdom's contribution to international peace efforts under the High Instructions of King Mohammed VI.
The agreement was signed on Wednesday in Rabat during a meeting between Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, Minister Delegate in charge of National Defense Administration Abdeltif Loudyi, and Nickolay Mladenov, High Representative of the Gaza Peace Council, who led a high-level delegation that included senior council officials and the commander of the International Stabilization Force in Gaza.
The meeting, held in the presence of senior Royal Armed Forces and Royal Gendarmerie officials, took place as part of Morocco's commitments as a founding member of the Gaza Peace Council, following the Royal Directives announced during the council's inaugural meeting in Washington, chaired by U.S. President Donald Trump, according to a statement from Morocco's National Defense Administration.
The signed agreement establishes the legal framework governing Morocco's participation in the multinational force, covering its technical and operational aspects.
During the talks, the Moroccan delegation said the Kingdom's contribution reflects its longstanding commitment to peace, international cooperation and solidarity, adding that the deployment aims to support efforts to restore stability and security in the Middle East.
Officials also highlighted Morocco's extensive experience in United Nations peacekeeping operations and its continued engagement in regional and international initiatives promoting peace and stability. The Moroccan side further pointed to King Mohammed VI's regional integration initiatives, describing them as key drivers of security and socio-economic development.
For their part, Mladenov and senior Gaza Peace Council officials welcomed Morocco's decision to join the initiative, praising the Kingdom's planned contribution, which includes the deployment of senior Royal Armed Forces officers to the ISF Joint Command, personnel from the Royal Gendarmerie and the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), as well as the establishment of a military field hospital in Gaza.
According to the National Defense Administration, the agreement reflects the shared determination of Morocco and the Gaza Peace Council to support peace through concrete humanitarian and security actions aimed at fostering a stable environment in the Palestinian territory.
