Morocco has launched a new initiative to fully digitize its road transport sector, as the Ministry of Transport and Logistics signed a partnership agreement on Thursday in Rabat with the Deposit and Management Fund (CDG) and CDG Incept.
The agreement, signed by Minister of Transport and Logistics Abdessamad Kayouh and CDG Director General Khalid Safir, aims to modernize freight and international road transport through a comprehensive digital transformation program.
Officials said the initiative will establish a fully digital ecosystem within six months, allowing transport companies and drivers to access administrative services and operational data online without the need to physically visit ministry offices.
The project forms part of Morocco’s broader “Digital Morocco 2030” strategy and follows national efforts to accelerate the digitization of public services in line with the High Royal Orientations.
Under the new framework, transport operators will transition to an integrated digital platform capable of tracking real-time information, including vehicle speed, traveled distances, and geolocation data.
Speaking to reporters after the signing ceremony, Kayouh said the reform seeks to integrate Morocco’s transport system into the digital sphere and simplify access to information for professionals across the sector.
“The objective is to integrate the transport system into the digital sphere to facilitate access to relevant information for all users,” the minister said, emphasizing that users will no longer need to travel to central or provincial ministry offices for administrative procedures.
Safir described the agreement as a first step in supporting the ministry’s digital transition, adding that the initiative would improve operational efficiency while helping Morocco align with international standards governing cross-border transport.
According to officials, the partnership also aims to strengthen governance in the transport sector by promoting institutional cooperation and pooling technical expertise between public entities.
The initiative comes as Morocco continues to expand its digital infrastructure and modernize strategic sectors as part of wider economic and administrative reforms targeting competitiveness and public service efficiency.
