The Moroccan Chamber of Trade in Italy (CCMI) and Italian cooperative banking group Iccrea Banca signed an agreement in Rome aimed at strengthening bilateral trade and supporting the internationalisation of businesses in both countries.
The agreement was signed by CCMI President Marouan El Mansoub and Massimo Meliconi, Head of the Transactional Banking and Export Credit Department at Iccrea Banca.
It aims to support Italian companies seeking to expand their presence in the Moroccan market and facilitate trade between Italian businesses and their Moroccan counterparts.
The agreement also provides support for members of the Moroccan community living in Italy who wish to launch new business projects between the two countries.
“This agreement will support Italian companies in their internationalisation efforts and in their commercial exchanges with Moroccan businesses in the Kingdom,” El Mansoub said.
He added that the initiative seeks to provide significant support to Moroccans living in Italy, both in launching new commercial projects in Morocco and developing their existing activities.
According to the CCMI president, the agreement marks a new step in strengthening economic ties between Morocco and Italy and is expected to create new opportunities for cooperation, investment and business development.
For his part, Meliconi said the agreement would enable Iccrea Banca to expand the tools available to its members to support companies in their international expansion.
The objective is to facilitate access to expertise, business networks and opportunities in a rapidly growing market such as Morocco, he said, describing the Kingdom as one of the most dynamic and promising markets in Africa for Italian businesses.
He added that Morocco offers significant opportunities in sectors including energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, agriculture, automotive and tourism, supported by its economic stability, strategic position between Europe and Africa, and favourable environment for foreign investment.
