The English capital, London, witnessed yesterday, the launch of the promotional campaign for the Moroccan investment and export brand "Morocco Now", organized by the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE) in partnership with the Moroccan embassy in the United Kingdom.
The event took place between March 21 and 23, inside the prestigious corridors of London's Design Museum, in the presence of an important Moroccan delegation consisting of the Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister in charge of Investment, Convergence, and Evaluation of Public Policy, Mohcine Jazouli, and Director General of the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development, Youssef El Bari, and the King's ambassador to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, Hakim Hajjoui.
On the British side, the event was marked by the presence of Andrew Morrison, Special Envoy of the British First Minister for Trade and Investment.
The first day of this event witnessed the organization of a seminar on the main themes and objectives of the "Morocco Now" brand, which was created in order to promote the Kingdom of Morocco as a global destination for investment and business; It is the platform that aims to shed light on the gains and capabilities of the Kingdom and promote an offer related to a technologically pioneering industry that responds to the needs of global demand.
The event also featured round tables and a series of working sessions and meetings between British investors, actors, and Moroccan professionals. On this occasion, the Moroccan delegation held high-level meetings with representatives of British institutions.
Rabat and London are historical trading partners; As the first trade treaty between the two countries commemorated last year its 300th anniversary. Building on the strength and long-standing ties between them, the two kingdoms renewed their strategic commitment to promoting their economic cooperation by concluding a partnership agreement governing their trade exchanges. The two partners aim to raise the extent of their cooperation to a higher level by offering the possibility of concluding a free trade agreement between the two countries in the future.
Morocco is positioned for the United Kingdom as a gateway to the African market. Until the end of the third quarter of 2021, the total volume of bilateral trade exchanges amounted to 1.8 billion pounds (more than 23 billion dirhams), on an annual basis, an increase of 7.2 percent compared to the same period in 2020.
According to the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development, as a brand of investment and export promotion, "Morocco Now" aims to introduce Morocco as a first-class industrial and export platform, in order to accelerate foreign investments. It also aims to enhance Morocco's position in the field of international trade and investment, by highlighting four gains: sustainability, competitiveness, ability to deliver, and flexibility that support Morocco's economic success.
