Morocco heads to vaccinate students before school year starts

Morocco has accelerated its national vaccination campaign against Covid-19 in order to reach the younger age groups to include students before the school year starts in the coming month.

In this regard, the Ministry of National Education has urged students and trainees aged 18 and over to be vaccinated against Covid-19, starting Monday.

This call comes after the expansion of the Covid-19 vaccination campaign to young people aged 18 and over, the ministry has said in a statement.

The ministry has called on learners to massively adhere to the immunization campaign, in order to guarantee the health security of all and the good continuity of their academic career.

According to sources close to the Health Ministry, the expansion of vaccination could reach the children at the age of 12 and over in the coming days or weeks in order to vaccinate the most number possible in parallel with the school entry.

Morocco has immunized so far more than 11 million and a half people against covid-19, while people who have received only one dose of the vaccine have surpassed 16 million.
