Morocco, Gamearly Partner to Strengthen National Gaming Ecosystem

Morocco’s Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication signed a declaration of intent on Friday in Rabat with gaming platform Gamearly to strengthen the country’s video game ecosystem, on the sidelines of the third edition of the Morocco Gaming Expo 2026.

The declaration was signed by Youth, Culture and Communication Minister Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid and Gamearly president Lionel Ledian Finick, reflecting both parties’ commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation in the gaming industry through training, innovation, investment, and the exchange of expertise.

As part of the agreement, the platform plans to establish a Gamearly branch in Morocco and launch an investment project in Rabat by the fourth quarter of 2026, with the ambition of turning the group into a major regional hub for the video game industry in Africa.

The initiative embodies what officials described as a long-term partnership aimed at reinforcing the sector’s momentum across the continent.

Speaking to reporters, Bensaid said the group’s decision to establish itself in Morocco demonstrates the Kingdom’s attractiveness and the high level of competence among Moroccan youth, highlighting the project’s potential impact on job creation.

“Our youth, through their excellence, efforts and skills, are succeeding in convincing international investors to come, settle and invest in Morocco,” he said.

For his part, the head of Gamearly said the company aims to create a Morocco-based structure inspired by the country’s national identity in order to support the development of the local video game industry.

He added that the company intends to build on the strong potential of Moroccan startups to help develop the national gaming ecosystem and strengthen its international outreach.

The executive also praised the emergence of Moroccan startups and development studios, saying many local initiatives stand out for their creativity and significant growth potential.

The signing of the declaration of intent comes as Morocco seeks to consolidate a sustainable gaming ecosystem capable of encouraging investment, innovation, and job creation, while further enhancing the country’s attractiveness to international investors.

This year’s edition of Morocco Gaming Expo 2026, organized by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication’s communication department under the theme “Moroccan Talents,” highlights the creativity, innovation, and expertise of young Moroccan talents contributing to the Kingdom’s growing influence in the video game and esports industries.
