Morocco’s Minister Delegate for Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, held talks on Thursday with Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Samir Mahmadov, to explore ways of strengthening bilateral cooperation in digital identity and digital transformation.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 2nd International Forum on Digital Cooperation and the fifth General Assembly of the Organization for Digital Cooperation, providing both sides an opportunity to review prospects for collaboration in key digital sectors.
Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in digital infrastructure, the development of digital skills, and the modernization of digital public services. The two officials also examined progress achieved in the use of mobile-based digital identity systems, which facilitate access to e-government services and digital transactions, as well as the potential for broader deployment of these solutions to benefit citizens and businesses.
During the meeting, the Azerbaijani delegation highlighted its national experience in digital identity, describing it as a strategic lever for advancing the digital economy and modernizing public administration.
Both parties expressed interest in exchanging expertise and best practices to support digital transformation efforts, stimulate innovation, and foster an environment conducive to investment and growth in the digital economy.
