Moroccan military contingents took part in the 9th International Pakistan Army Team Spirit (PATS) Competition 2026, held from 5 to 9 February at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in Pabbi, Pakistan. The event brought together forces from 19 friendly countries to enhance military cooperation and professional development.
According to Pakistan’s state broadcaster PTV News, 24 international teams participated, including Morocco, along with 16 domestic teams from the Pakistan Army and Navy, and observers from the Pakistan Air Force. Other participating countries included Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belarus, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Türkiye, the United States, and Uzbekistan. Indonesia, Myanmar, and Thailand joined as observers.
The PATS competition is a mission-specific, task-oriented military exercise designed to test physical fitness, mental resilience, and rapid decision-making under near-real operational conditions. Over the 60-hour, high-intensity exercise, participating troops conducted challenging missions in semi-mountainous terrain, aiming to strengthen team spirit, combat skills, adaptability, and interoperability among international forces.
Morocco’s participation aligns with the Moroccan army’s ongoing efforts to provide its troops with opportunities to exchange tactics, techniques, and innovative approaches with counterparts from around the world, while fostering professional development and international military collaboration.
Since its inception, PATS has evolved into a prestigious platform for professional military engagement, promoting mutual learning and enhancing ties between participating nations’ armed forces.
