Wednesday's thwarting of an extremely dangerous terrorist plot targeting Morocco, instigated and directly incited by a senior ISIS leader in the Sahel region, testifies to the “effectiveness of Morocco's proactive approach” in the fight against terrorism, Spanish academic Rafael Esparza Machín stated.
The Moroccan anti-terrorist approach “has proved to be an effective model and a benchmark at regional and international level, given the terrorist plot foiled to date by the Moroccan security services”, Esparza Machín stressed to MAP.
By thwarting yet another extremely serious terrorist plot, Moroccan security services have once again showcased their effectiveness, the expert said, noting that the professionalism and vigilance that the Moroccan services have always shown have made it possible to prevent dangerous attacks in the pipeline.
In terms of counter-terrorism, Morocco is implementing a global strategy based on anticipation and preventive action, which has enabled it to curb extremely serious threats, he maintained.
The expert also pointed out that close cooperation with Spain reinforces the efficiency of the Moroccan approach and promotes the Kingdom of Morocco's fundamental role against the spread of violent extremism.
“Both countries act as proactive partners in security and the fight against terrorism, strengthening a strategic collaboration that reinforces regional stability”, he concluded.
