The Israeli Foreign Minister, Yair Lapid, will pay a visit to Morocco, next Wednesday, August 11, and will extend over two days, during which he will meet his counterpart Nasser Bourita.
The website of the Israeli channel "I24news" described the upcoming visit of Yair Lapid to Morocco as "historic", which comes less than a month after the launch of direct flights between Tel Aviv and Rabat, in the context of the resumption of bilateral relations between the two parties following the signing of the agreement to normalize relations in last December.
Among the activities that Israeli FM will undertake in Morocco is the official opening of the Israeli diplomatic representation in Rabat through the liaison office that It is headed by diplomat David Goffrin.
Yair Lapid has recently said that after this two-day visit to the Kingdom of Morocco, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita will pay a visit to Israel, in order to open the Moroccan diplomatic representation in Tel Aviv.
It is expected that Yair Lapid's visit to Morocco will be followed by other visits by Israeli officials in the Israeli government in order to advance bilateral relations with Morocco in many other fields, especially the economic fields, such as agriculture, fishing and the water sector.
It should be noted that Morocco signed an agreement with Israel on American mediation to resume bilateral relations. The agreement included the American recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara, last December under the leadership of former President Donald Trump.
