Israel currently discusses the recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over Sahara and plans to announce its final stance in the next Negev Forum which is expected to be held in Morocco.
The Israeli Foreign Minister, Eli Cohen told reporters that "We are right now working in regards to this issue and our plan is to have our final decision in the Negev Forum.”
According to Israeli media, Cohen expected the Moroccan-hosted event to take place in September or October.
The second edition of the Negev Forum was expected to be held in Morocco on June 25, but the event was postponed by Rabat due to the Israeli aggression in the Palestinian-occupied territories.
Moroccan Foreign Minister, Nasser Boutria declared on June 23, that Morocco is ready to host the second edition of the Negev Forum this autumn, and hopes that the political context will be favorable.
"We hope that the context will be favorable to the holding of this important event on the one hand, but also that it will produce results on the other," said Bourita at a press briefing following his talks with Swiss Federal Advisor, Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Ignazio Cassis.
"The Negev Forum stands for an idea of cooperation and dialogue, contrary to anything that is provocative action, unilateral action, or a decision carried by radicals on both sides, but especially on the Israeli side, in relation to the occupied Arab territories," said the minister.
