Israel announced the appointment of David Govrin as its ambassador to Morocco, after the resumption of relations between Tel Aviv and Rabat late last year.
Israeli newspaper, Yedioth Ahronoth, reported that the appointments committee of the Israeli Foreign Affairs approved the appointment of Govrin to the post of Israel's ambassador to Morocco.
In this regard, Govrin, who held the position of Director of the Israeli Liaison Office in Rabat, said in a tweet on his Twitter account: "I am honored to share with my followers and friends from all over the world the news of my appointment as the official ambassador of the State of Israel in Morocco."
He added, "On this occasion, I thank all our partners in Morocco and abroad for their efforts to establish peace and peace. We will continue our work to move towards developing joint relations for the benefit of the two brotherly countries."
