The Indian billionaire, Gautam Adani, plans to launch a huge project to produce renewable energy in the Kingdom of Morocco, with the aim of providing Europe with electricity and fuels free of polluting emissions, Bloomberg reported.
According to the same source, Gautam Adani, who is considered the richest person in Asia with a fortune exceeding $150 billion, is currently conducting studies and explorations on the possibility of completing a huge project specialized in green renewable energy, to meet European needs for electricity and clean fuels.
In this context, Bloomberg added that the project, as revealed by sources familiar with it, is initially related to a proposal to build plants to generate green energy derived from wind and sun in the Kingdom of Morocco, in addition to building facilities for the production of green hydrogen, which is considered a "fuel of the future" in view of the European countries' desire to rely on zero-emissions fuels.
Gautam Adani is considered among the largest global investors in many fields, and he is the president and founder of the Adani Group, a multinational group based in Ahmedabad involved in the development and operation of ports in India, and has other investments besides his wife through the Adani Group "Foundation".
This investor is in addition to a group of international investors who previously expressed their desire to invest in renewable energies, especially since many countries have begun to rely on electricity and green fuels, in response to demands to reduce climate-damaging emissions, and Morocco is considered one of the leading countries in the field of producing green energy.
In recent years, Morocco has launched several projects related to the production of green energy, such as the Noor 1 and Noor 2 projects in the Ouarzazate desert to produce electricity from solar energy, as Morocco has the largest solar energy plant in the world.
In addition, Morocco has launched several other projects aimed at producing green hydrogen, with countries such as Germany, where it is heading to build power plants and produce green hydrogen for export to Europe, in light of the desire of most European countries to change their dependence on ordinary fuel with hydrogen fuel which is considered environmentally friendly.
