Morocco has vaccinated more than 4 million of its citizens with the first dose, while more than 717 thousand have received the second dose, the Ministry of Health said on Tuesday.
According to the same source in its daily update, a total of 4,017,087 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 so far (1st Dose), while 717,113 people have received the second dose of the vaccine up to March 9, 2021.
Morocco is the only nation in Africa to vaccinate more than million of its citizens, besides, it was the first country in the black continent to start a national vaccination campaign against COVID-19.
508 new COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing to 486,833 the total number of cases reported since the outbreak of the virus.
The total number of recoveries has increased to 473,208 with 664 new recoveries in the past 24 hours, which corresponds to a recovery rate of 97.2%.
The total number of deaths rose to 8,695, with 12 new cases recorded in 24 hours, i.e. a fatality rate of 1.8%.
