Dakhla city to host first Moroccan-Spanish investment forum

The Moroccan southern city Dakhla (Sahara region) will host tomorrow Tuesday, June 21, the first Moroccan- Spanish forum of investment that will last for 2 days.

The forum will be an occasion for the Moroccan investors and their Spanish counterparts to discover the investment opportunities that the region of Sahara offers.

The event will be organized under the auspice of Morocco’s Ministry of Trade and Industry in partnership with the Regional Council of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region and it is expected to receive more than one hundred Spanish businessmen.

The forum came after the improvement of diplomatic ties between Morocco and Spain in the last weeks, especially since Spain decided last March to shift its position towards the Sahara issue and support Morocco’s autonomy initiative to end this conflict.

Morocco seeks through this forum to attract Spanish investments in order to keep its strategy that aims at developing the Sahara region and making it a flourishing destination in terms of economy.
