Canada decided to suspend all direct flights with Morocco, starting from today, Sunday, August 29, until September 29, 2021.
Canada justified this decision by the epidemiological situation in the Kingdom of Morocco, where the infections of the Coronavirus have witnessed a significant increase.
In recent weeks, Morocco has witnessed an increase in the daily rate of infections with the Coronavirus, by more than 8,000, with a slight decline in recent days.
In this regard, a total of 3,841 new cases of coronavirus infection (Covid-19) and 6,815 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health said on Sunday.
The new figure brings to 853,373 the total number of contaminations since the first case reported in Morocco in March 2020. The number of people who have recovered rose to 780,434, i.e. a recovery rate of 91.5%.
The number of people who got the first shot is 18,226,896 while that of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) stands at 14,364,557, the ministry said in its daily report on the Covid-19 epidemiological situation.
