Assahifa Arabic: Moroccan intelligence opens investigation into killing of two Moroccan drivers in Mali

Mystery still surrounds the killing of two Moroccan drivers of international transport trucks in Mali, especially since the gunmen who carried out this heinous crime targeted Moroccan drivers without other drivers of other nationalities.

According to exclusive information obtained by ‘Assahifa Arabic’ from informed sources, the Moroccan foreign intelligence known as "La DGED" entered the incident line by collecting all the information and data related to the incident and analyzing all assumptions, including that the operation could be a planned terrorist attack.

The same sources indicate that since the announcement of the incident, coordination between the Moroccan intelligence service and the Malian services began to identify the groups that are active in the area which witnessed the accident, to paint a certain picture of the reasons for shooting the Moroccan drivers alone, and who behind this armed action, ad if it is a local operation or has regional dimensions.

The hypothesis of "dirty work" has begun to be put forward, according to the Malian press, and the initial data does not rule out the use of "mercenaries" to carry out this operation, which targeted Moroccans in an operation whose purpose was to kill the drivers, as if it was a specific "message" intended to deliver "something" to Morocco.

This incident came at a time when Habboub Cherkaoui, director of the Central Office for Judicial Research, affiliated with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance in Morocco, had warned of the presence of 100 members of the “Polisario” who were active in the ranks of the “Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb” organization, which is based in the Sahel region.
