Aerospace operators PILATUS and SABCA signed Monday a contract worth 17 million euros for the complete assembly of PC-12 airframes in Casablanca, Morocco.
This contract marks the beginning of a new, long-term partnership between PILATUS and SABCA, and represents an "important phase that benefits from the industrial system of Morocco's aeronautics and space".
This project envisages the construction of a new 16,000 square meter plant, which will include a PC-12 airframe assembly line, at the Nouaceur Technological Pole.
The contract provides for the assembly of airframes, wings and flight controls, including the installation of electrical wiring.
SABCA Group will deliver these key components of the aircraft to the final assembly chain in Switzerland, where they will be integrated with the rest of the aircraft's systems, engine, and cabin interior.
The first assembly of airframes and wings at SABCA's new industrial unit in Casablanca will be ready for delivery to the final assembly line in Stans, Switzerland, by the end of 2022.
The PC-12 is a unique aircraft that can land on an unprepared runway - and is versatile enough to perform a variety of tasks, from operational transport, cargo, and air ambulance to air or government missions.
Since its first flight in 1994, this aircraft is the best-selling aircraft in its class to date, with more than 1,800 copies delivered.
