U.S. embassies in several Middle Eastern capitals have warned American citizens of a possible escalation in the regional conflict, urging them to consider leaving the region or be prepared to depart if the security situation deteriorates.
Security alerts issued by U.S. diplomatic missions in Amman, Jerusalem, and Baghdad said Americans currently in the region should exercise heightened caution and remain ready for possible travel disruptions.
"Americans in the region should consider departing, or be prepared to depart should there be escalation," the advisory stated, warning of potential flight cancellations, periodic airspace closures, and other transportation disruptions.
The embassies also advised U.S. citizens outside the Middle East to reconsider travel to or through the region, citing the increasingly volatile security environment and the risk of unforeseen escalation.
