Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned Israel’s military actions inside Lebanese territory, denouncing what it described as an assault on Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity amid growing regional tensions.
In a statement issued by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kingdom expressed its rejection of the Israeli incursion into Lebanese territory and any actions that undermine the sovereignty of the Lebanese state.
Riyadh also called on the international community to assume its responsibilities in bringing an end to the Israeli military operation and preventing further actions aimed at expanding Israel’s presence inside Lebanon.
The Kingdom stressed the importance of safeguarding Lebanon’s sovereignty and protecting the Lebanese people in accordance with relevant international agreements and legal frameworks.
Saudi Arabia further reiterated the importance of adhering to the provisions of the Taif Agreement, describing it as a key foundation for ensuring the full exercise of Lebanese state authority across the country’s territory.
The statement also emphasized the need to implement decisions adopted by the Lebanese government aimed at ensuring that the possession and use of weapons remain exclusively under the authority of the state and its legitimate institutions.
According to the Kingdom, strengthening state authority and reinforcing national institutions are essential steps toward restoring security and stability in Lebanon and ensuring the well-being of its people.
The Saudi position comes amid heightened concerns over the security situation along Lebanon’s borders and growing international calls to prevent further escalation in the region.
