Iran has prepared more powerful weapons in case hostilities resume in the Middle East, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) spokesman Hossein Mohebi said on Thursday.
"If war breaks out again, the weapons we use will certainly be different-whether in terms of warhead generation, precision, missile range, or any other parameter," Mohebi was quoted as saying by Iranian news agency Defa Press.
The senior Iranian military official said Tehran is continuously upgrading its weapons systems, focusing on greater precision, destructive power and advanced technology.
His remarks come amid continued tensions in the Middle East and growing attention to the possibility of renewed hostilities.
CNN earlier reported, citing US officials, that Washington is shifting towards a strategy of gradual economic "strangulation" of Iran rather than direct military action.
US President Donald Trump subsequently announced what he described as an economic operation against Iran, calling it an unprecedented campaign of isolation and urging US allies to join the effort.
