An Egyptian business delegation specializing in the food industries and packaging sectors concluded a two-day visit to Morocco on Wednesday, aimed at exploring new partnership opportunities with Moroccan companies and strengthening trade and investment ties between the two countries.
The mission was organized by Egypt’s Export Council for Food Industries and KONZEPT, in partnership with the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Morocco and the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Egypt. The initiative was also supported by the Export Council for Printing, Packaging, Paper, Literary and Artistic Works, alongside the Egyptian Commercial Representation Office in Morocco.
According to organizers, the delegation brought together 33 Egyptian companies operating in the food manufacturing and packaging sectors, reflecting growing interest among Egyptian businesses in expanding their presence in the Moroccan market.
The visit sought to facilitate direct engagement between Egyptian and Moroccan economic operators, identify new areas of cooperation, and promote stronger commercial exchanges between Morocco and Egypt.The mission follows a first edition held in 2023, which enabled companies from both countries to exchange expertise, establish business contacts, and explore opportunities for economic collaboration.
Activities began on June 9 with an information and networking session dedicated to presenting Morocco’s business environment and investment landscape.The program also included site visits that allowed participating companies to gain first-hand insight into the Moroccan market, its infrastructure, industrial ecosystem, and economic potential.
The opening session was attended by Ahmed Nehad Abdel Latif, Egypt’s Ambassador to Morocco, alongside representatives from Morocco’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, the National Office for Food Safety, the Customs and Indirect Tax Administration, Label’Vie Group, and the Association of Traders and Professionals of Derb Omar.
A key highlight of the mission was a business-to-business meetings day held on June 10 at the Hyatt Regency Casablanca, where Moroccan and Egyptian companies met to discuss potential commercial partnerships.
The event provided Moroccan businesses with an opportunity to engage directly with Egyptian suppliers and manufacturers, discover their products and services, and assess prospects for cooperation across the food processing, packaging, printing, and paper industries.
Organizers said the meetings helped create a platform for fostering new commercial relationships and expanding business networks between companies from both sides of the Mediterranean.
The initiative comes amid broader efforts by Morocco and Egypt to deepen economic cooperation and increase bilateral trade, with both countries seeking to leverage complementary strengths across a range of industrial sectors.
According to the organizers, the mission forms part of a wider dynamic of economic rapprochement between Rabat and Cairo, aimed at encouraging sustainable partnerships and generating new business opportunities.
They added that strengthening ties between private-sector operators remains a key driver of future growth in trade and investment relations between the two countries.
