The Consulate General of the Kingdom of Morocco in Valencia has announced the organization of a meeting bringing together Spanish and Moroccan writers on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Casa Mediterráneo in Alicante.
The event comes amid growing momentum in the Moroccan-Spanish literary scene, marked by an increasing number of writers from both shores producing works in Spanish.

The initiative aims to create a platform for dialogue, reflection, and exchange of perspectives on contemporary literature linked to Morocco and Spain, while also exploring its future prospects.
The program will feature a series of roundtable discussions with the participation of fifteen writers, alongside representatives from publishing houses and cultural media outlets. The discussions are expected to facilitate the exchange of creative experiences, analyze current literary trends, and address challenges and opportunities for development.
The meeting will bring together Spanish authors whose works explore themes related to Morocco, as well as Moroccan and Moroccan-origin writers who write in Spanish on key social, cultural, and identity-related issues.
Publishers and cultural journalists attending the event will also contribute to highlighting the dissemination and reception of Morocco-related literature in Spain.
The event is being organized in partnership with Casa Mediterráneo, with support from publishing houses Diwan, Nota al margen, and Ediciones del Oriente y del Mediterráneo, which contribute to promoting literary creativity and cultural exchange in the Mediterranean space.
In addition to the literary and intellectual activities, the meeting will include a networking moment during a break featuring traditional Moroccan pastries and oud music, offering an authentic cultural atmosphere.
A book exhibition related to the event’s theme will also be organized, allowing attendees to discover examples of contemporary Moroccan-Spanish literature.
The Consulate General emphasized that the event reflects its commitment to strengthening cultural ties between Morocco and Spain by supporting literature as a bridge for dialogue, mutual understanding, and closer relations between the two peoples.
