Moroccan club RS Berkane has appointed Cape Verdean coach Pedro Leitao Brito, widely known as "Bubista," as its new head coach, replacing Tunisian manager Mouine Chaabani.
The 56-year-old has signed a two-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2028, marking a new chapter in his coaching career after several years in charge of the Cape Verde national team.
Announcing the appointment on Tuesday, RS Berkane said the move aligns with the club's long-term sporting ambitions and reflects its commitment to building on recent successes.
In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, the club said Bubista's appointment forms part of the continuity of its sporting project and is intended to strengthen its competitiveness both domestically and on the African stage.
The club highlighted the coach's technical expertise and extensive experience in African football, adding that his arrival would also provide opportunities for the club's emerging young talents.
RS Berkane, which will compete in the CAF Champions League this season, said it aims to maintain its momentum and continue challenging for major honours under Bubista's leadership.
